I'm curious, does anybody else with the L1 feel that their images are not at all sharp? I've owned or used at least eight other digitals from pocket sized to SLR and viewed images from countless digital cameras and the L1 I bought a month ago has the worst quality image in relation to overall sharpness. I'm very disappointed. The store model seemed to take OK photos when viewed and zoomed in on the LCD. I can even tell on mine when viewing on the LCD that they are not tack sharp.

Once I upload them to my computer and view them in PhotoShop, the problem is very evident. Nothing is completely sharp. It's not as though the autofocus is focusing in the wrong zone for the subject, nothing is sharp anywhere in the scene. The entire image has a slight out of focus look to it and even the sharpening tools which can do wonders don't really help it out. There are no clean edges- everything is slightly soft. Of course the obvious, the lense is clean.

My kids don't seem to mind and love using it but I just can't get past the lack of sharpness. Other than that I love the size and bought it for a lot of the features. I'm back to using my old Kodak 4530 for our family photos and backpacking trips because even though it's been dropped and beat around for three or four years, it still works perfect and is super super sharp.

If other people are getting really sharp images with their L1, I'll send it in and have it looked at.
