View Full Version : Compact Flash, other brands
hey all
thinking buying some more compact flash cards. i've only been using sandisk so far but thinking of trying out some other brands if they're a good deal. i know i've heard of a few smaller brands that are becoming popular and said to be reliable but i don't really remember the names. looking for 1-2gb (not more) 40x speed or higher. how much $$ are these supposed to run?
thanks

I recently bought a couple of Ridata 80X 2GB cards for around $55 each from Newegg. Great cards so far.
EDIT: Wow, now they're down to $38!

For the most part, CF (or SD) cards are commodities at this point. If it meets the specs you are looking for, chances are it'll be fine.

In addition to SanDisk, I have used Kingston, Lexar and SimpleTech cards with no problems at all.

I've mainly used Kingston cards ever since I started digital photography - partly because I was happy with their PC memory. I've also had a Sandisk, an Olympus, and a couple of Fuji cards, in CF, xD & SD formats. Never had any trouble with any of them (it's hard typing with fingers crossed! :D )
