This isn't a photography-related question, but I was hoping another mac user could give me some insight anyways.

I was given a used Mac G4 by a coworker. When I power it up, the keyboard and mouse don't work. I get an error message that the USB keyboard uses too much power to operate. The only USB device plugged in to the computer is the keyboard. The usb mouse is plugged in to the keyboard. I'm not sure why they would use that much power or if someone can offer a 'work around' or solution?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

THANKS

Not sure, I have a PowerBook so no external keyboard.

Have you tried plugging in the mouse directly to the computer?

You may also try on appletalk.com.au

Hey Forno thanks for the quick reply. I did try plugging the mouse into a USB on the computer, but that didn't make a difference.

The site you suggested seemed helpful, I found some similar problems and suspect I just need to get a USB hub with it's own power source.

THANKS!
