Are there any problems with using a card with
pictures already stored on it from one
camera, and then using the same card on another
camera and still retaining the stored pictures from the
first camera.
In other words will their be any
conflict even though both cameras can use the
same type of card.

um. I thought you had to format a card to a camera before using it in that camera. so in other words. putting a card with pictures from your Canon A620 into a Canon S3 IS oe any other camera woudl not work because once you format you would lose the pictures. I do think it is possible to take the pictures off the card and put them in your computer and then format the card to the new camera without any problems but I am not entirely sure.

I don't think there would be a problem with (for example) a Canon A620 and S3. I think they use the same directory structure on the card so they'd just be writing to different directories. Not sure about mixing manufacturers.

I have used the same cards (two different SanDisk SD cards) in a Canon A520 and the Panasonic FZ3 with no problems. The cameras each create their own directories on the cards.
