I just got the Powershot SD550 and I am noticing that the picture is not as vibrant and clear as my Powershot S50. I'm wondering if there are certain settings that I should have my camera on in order to achieve the best photos. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I usualy turn on vibrant. My pictures never seem to come out as nice and sharp as everyone elses though. It seems to give the colors some more pop but may rob some sharpness. There is a setting on some of the newer cameras called custom colors or somthing and it has a setting for sharpness

do u have vivid mode? you could try that.. i did notice they do sacrifice sharpness though, if u like to work on the comptuer. you can shoot normally and just add saturation on Photoshop. if ur the lazee type like me, u can select vivid mode. if u dont have that.. then ignore what i just said lol

Yeah vivid thats what i ment not vibrant. What ever mode it is it seems to rob some quality from the shot. I think thats why when i look at everyone elses pictures they look so much better then mine.
Ill have to start shooting in normal mode and see how it goes.

I still can't seem to find a happy medium with this camera regarding the best possible setting.
Photos are coming out too dark & too "grainy", and the flash seems to take FOREVER if the lighting is absolutely perfect....
I'm getting close to my last nerve with this thing.....
HELP!!!
