Got My New A620

Well, after a few days of tormenting myself, I re-ordered another A620 to replace the one that I had that malfunctioned after just 3 weeks. I'm SO happy I got it! Here are some pics from my recent trip to the Wild Animal Park in San Diego. Please keep in mind that I have no idea what I'm doing with a camera! Also keep in mind that I have no idea how to post pics, so I hope this works. Supposedly, you'll be able to click on the thumbnail to view a bigger pic. Wish me luck!

nice pics. the 2nd n 3rd pic are blurry, maybe out of focus. 1st and last are nice =D oh yea i like ur 2nd pic tooo.. the red blue and white (the white triangle actually has a sun and 3 stars but u cant see cuz its bright) hehhehhe :cool:

Yeah, the 2nd & 3rd are definitely out of focus. I think I got a little excited! I also need to take a digital photography class...(or ten.) :D

thats because canon is the most popular company. besides what cameras in the regular compact and ultracompact section can compete with canon cameras? (other than the uber popular Fuji F30)

yes that is the only one though and my post even said besides that camer but thanks for pointing it out so big and clear how much it pwns pretty much all compact cameras.

if they made a canon version of the F30 i would be all over it. but the replaceemnt of the A620 probably won't go above 800 ISO it would suprise me a bit if it went to 1600 ISO which seems to be the new popular number for compact cameras.

The Fuji F30 is sooooooooo tempting, but I keep hoping that other manufacturers will quickly try to play a little 'catch-up' and boost their ISO sensitivities (instead of just upping the megapixels... and keeping the sensor size the same - arghh!). It seems that Panasonic will never solve their noisy sensor problem - at least no time soon. Too bad b/c they're pretty impressive cameras otherwise.

Anyway - any idea when the new Canons will be announced/released? The A540 and/or A620 almost do it for me, but... like I said... if the new Powershots have better ISO capabilities (plus AA batteries, WP enclosures, conversion lenses, non-proprietary memory cards, etc... see what's keeping me from getting the otherwise-ideal Fuji F30??), I'm all over it (like ben7337).

So, what's the rumor? When should we expect to hear about new models?

first post shoudl give you an idea of when the A620 will be replaced. however I think that the cameras will eb the A630 and A640 not the A810/820. its a shame too since I preffer the A820 name over A640. how about you?

yeah I guess name does not matter I just think 820 looks better. BTW I am not sure if I am all over the fuji F30. I also am in love with the Pansonic LX-2 if it actually gets decent ISO reviews (so not going to happen) or the Canon SD700 IS I like that one but would want it as like a pocketable camera I take everywhere.(I do not have a cell phone so definitelly no camera phone with crappy 1.3 MP pictures)
