I just had a lovely experience with bananaboatcameras.com. I was skeptical at first anyway with their prices being so low, but I really wanted the camera. So I went ahead and ordered it next day air so i wouldn't need to worry about it for too long... well i ordered it friday and being monday today i called to make sure my order would be shipped out or already was. The guy was really snippy and first he asked if i had called to confirm it already...i said no... he confirmed my info and then asked if i wanted a lense to go along with the body. I said no, i just wanted the body. Then he asked which battery i wanted.... if i wanted a battery with it i would've ordered it online with my order. So I said no. He said: "well then you might as well hang it on your wall because you cant use it." !!!i already have the battery for it ..why would i want another one? anyway, so I tell him the my credit card only has so much i can put on it and before i get through saying what i'm saying, he says "thank you, good bye!"
Scam or what??? he was so rude! so i got scared and called my credit card company and cancelled my credit card. beware of bananaboatcameras.com

You know what they say about it being too good to be true. When prices are way lower then anywhere else, that should raise a red flag. Before you buy, it's a good idea to check resellerratings for a vendor's score, and perhaps ask on a photo board like this one and others to see what folks might have to say.

fbmgirl,

Bananaboatcamera.com (Wow, what a cheesy website!) looks like just another efront for one of the Brooklyn, NY camera resellers. I think you made a wise decision to cancel your order. Their Customer Service Number is a 718 area code (Brooklyn). This efront's not yet listed on www.resellerratings.com but it'll show up there eventually. Pay a little more for the camera you want and buy from a retailer with a reputation for service like Newegg, B&H Photo, Crutchfield or Beach Camera. Your peace of mind and not having to deal with rude, bait & switch, hard-sell artists is worth something, right? Good Luck!:)
