Hi
This is my first post. im just starting to get into photographey and im looking to get a new digital camera. im currently debating between
Canon Powershot A620
Canon Powershot A700
Canon Powershot SD600
Fuji Fine Pix F30
I really like the powershot A700 but a friend of mine has it and the pics seems hazy/pixelated. Image quality is very important for me. Does anyone out there own the Powershot is so, how is the image quality? anyone else want to reccommend a similar camera with better image quality

a lot of people do not really like the A700 that much. it has 6x optical zoom but no Imiage Stabilization. if you go bove 4x optical zoom you kind of need IS to make the picture stable and look nice. I think the F30 and A620 are both great cameras but that A620 is due for a replacement model to be announced in approximately 1-2weeks. of course it won't come out right away but if you can wait just to hear about it you might be won over by it if the A620 is already on your list. the SD600 I know little about I know more about the SD630 and SD700 IS so I am not sure how good it is. keep in mind all of my opinions are based on the revies from this website and others.

I can't say much about the other cameras, but you cant go wrong with the F30...so far, I have found no weaknesses...and the 2.5 " LCD is awesome, great resolution...

People are amazed when they check out my F30 at how great the pics look, and again how awesome the LCD is

I havent been able to find the f30 yet, to try out in person, but i think im gunna have to. ive been looking at its features and it looks like a real contender

Question: when they release a new model of the A620 in a couple weeks will it be drastically over priced?

Why no SD? I think it limits it's advantages.. Never heard of th xD (I think that's it's name) . Is it Fiji's card?

xD has been used by Fuji and Olympus for awhile now. The format is a bit more expensive and not as widely used as SD, but in the end I don't think it should be a reason not to by an F30. The benefits of the camera far outweigh this one (for some people) negative.

I am not sure but I think the camera that replaces the A620 will cost $400-$500 but I could be wrong I am not sure what the A620 cost when it came out. I think it cost $400 when it came out but I could be wrong. it really all depends on what canon puts in their new camera but ti won't come out right away it will be announced in 102 weeks with an MSRP estimated price. that is the price you can roughtly expect to pay for it. If you think it is worth waiting for and not too expensive you can get it. you can wait 1-2 weeks just to see the information on it right?
