Here are some shots from a friends wedding over the weekend. I come to the conclusion I need a external flash. You pros deserve a lot of credit, you make it look a lot easier than it is. I was doing my best to stay out of the way of the pro, here are a couple I liked. I did not put them in the photo gallery because I did not feel they were ready for prime time.

Resolutions dropped to fit in this site.

What ISO did you use? There is an unreal amount of noise in the photos, and the colour noise is really disturbing in dark areas.
Run them through noise ninja or neat image before resizing them, because for some reason the program you are using the resize seems to like to keep the colour noise pixels over the other pixels. Look for instance at the dark hair of the women/girls.

Also, the black and white photo lacks contrast and life, how did you make it black and white? Do you have photoshop, or what do you use?

The life in the last one is great - did you take any more of her spinning like that? The background is a little distracting, though, I'd maybe have taken it horizontally, and perhaps even cropped it down top-to-bottom, so you have a wide expanse of field and trees, full of bubbles, plus miss spin :)

Cold
Iso 200/400, they were very dark, taken without any flash and I brought them back up in pp. Picasa 2 is what I use for all editing including the black and white, because my computer can't handle anything else. I see the noise, its been something I have mentioned for sometime, but I thought it is just my inexperience at exposures. I do not have a hosting site, so the resolution was reduced, some down to 90% jpg, to get them within this sites parameters.

I have a couple more.

You could PP them a bit with Noiseware (a freebee) and they will look a bit better. Careful not to go to far as you will lose detail though...

I really like the garter and bouquet shots. They both show a lot of life and a great sense of timing. From a PP standpoint, I think your B&W's could really be improved with a bit more contrast...

Some great captures for your "first" wedding!

I really appreciate the feedback. Those were two of the ones I liked best, they reminded me of some of your type of shots, only because your shots have something going on in the foreground while more of the story is being told in the back. I always enjoy your work.

Computer and photoshop elements are on the shopping list to help with the pp.

When the pastor said you may kiss the bride, the pro's camera was on the floor! I was shocked, I could not tell what she was doing but she did manage to get the camera up fast enough before they finished the kiss.

Nice images - I agree with the above posts, the noise is a little high in those first ones. Also learn to bounce your flash, it will make the shaddows much less harsh...Nice work for the first though and keep at it, practice only makes you better..

A wedding I was doing the pastor didn't even say "....Kiss the bride" he just stepped out of the way and they kissed...Immagine my surprise   . Luckily I had another photographer with me and we both were able to capture some good shots of the kiss...:)

O.K. I just hooked up my my computer, I am sure I will have to adjust the monitor more but I can see so much better that they do not even look like the same set of photos. The b&w's are very washed out looking, hence the need for contrast.

Sorry for the months of crappy photos, I feel quite stupid.

The crop of Miss Bubbles is brilliant, in my opinion - definitely better than the original.

I have to agree & thanks for the input. I will be sending a copy to her mom(bride). I think she will love it.
