View Full Version : Sigma vs Tamron for 70-300?

OK, so Jessops stopped their deal on the Sigma 70-300, but I now find out that they'll bundle the Tamron equivalent for £100 less than usual, at £99.

Here's the lineup:

Sigma, non-APO: £115
Sigma, APO: £180
Tamron: £100, reduced from £200.

Just beginning, I don't really think I can justify the additional expense of the APO, however, if the non-APO is better than the Tamron, I could.

Reading reviews, though, the Tamron is apparently very good and further, I think the front element rotates on the Sigma, but not on the Tamron. Correct me if I'm wrong, here.
