hi,

Budget

* those two cams are as close to my max budget as can be ^^

Size

* What size camera are you looking for? Or does size not matter at all to you?
i would preferre a rather small cam, for obvious reasons ^^

Features

How many megapixels will suffice for you?
i don't even know how much those matter. i heard megapixel is not all ^^

* Zoom: i don't know what i need, i want my camera for everyday usage
like parties, or sightseeing maybe doing some art shots occasionally.
so zoom ... i don't know, how important is it for what ?

* image quality: about 8-9 i guess. i like sharp, clear pictures, no blurry
or dotted pics; i just can't stand that.

Do you care for manual controls?
well actually i have no clue about manual controls, but they might be used
if i get to know them ^^

General Usage

* What will you generally use the camera for?
everydays pics, like parties, beeing with friends, sightseeing
or doing some art shots and reworking them on my computer.

* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not?
rather not

Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos?
probably as much as outdoor pics

Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos?
not as much as normal ones but snapshots are really fun to make

Miscellaneous

Are there particular brands you like or hate?
nope

Are there particular models you already have in mind?
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H2 or fuji finepix f30
maybe casio exilim z600

i have no clue what to buy.

thanks in advance,

So what is your budget, $400? Give us a dollar figure.

If you want a small one and don't need zoom then eliminate the H2. The F30 and Z600 are good small ones. Fuji F10 and F20 are cheaper and have fewer manual controls which you say don't need. Also, Sony W50 is a good small one.
