So, heres my story.
I was unemployed and saving up for a Fuji S9000 as an upgrade to my powershot A610. Now, I got employed unexpectedly and now since I earn more money, I'm in a camera situation.
Basically, I like the fuji but I'm afraid that it may take worse pictures than my A610. Is this possible or am I just paranoid. And now that I have a job, I am considering to buy an XT, but it would take me a year to make enough to buy a nice lens for it *thumbs down*
So pretty much I'm wondering if the Fuji would be an acceptable upgrade that would take better pictures than my current A610. Here are some pictures I've taken with my A610 to show you the quality. Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/65763833@N00/)
Thanks for your help.

I can't comment on the specific camera you mentioned. I can say that I've been happy with my Fuji F30 and from what I've seen of other Fuji digitals, they seem to know what they're doing. Fuji has done some amazing things with the CCD format.
There are some new cameras coming out soon from Nikon and Canon... this might influence your decisions. Even if you aren't interested in their new offerrings it will likely drive the price of their current batch of cameras down some.

You do not state your intended budget, so it is hard to comment on a 350D + lens.
The Fuji will not disappoint in image quality, it is a very good camera. But at higher ISOs the results can get soft (which you can sharpen in software).
The new Fuji S6000fd may be of interest, it will probably beat the S9000 since it has less pixels and therefore will be better noisewise and sharpness wise.

I've had a Fuji S9500 (the European name for the S9000) for about 3 months - taken about 800 photos with it. The only thing I'm not totally happy with is the manual focus - although there is an enlarged viewfinder centre, it's very fiddly to use, and there's no distance scale.
I've made prints up to 30 x 20", which look fantastic when hung on the wall. There are some sharpening artefacts and signs of purple fringing visible when looked at up close, but at normal viewing distance they're lovely. I do take most shots at ISO 100, there are more signs of noise at higher ISO settings, but they're still OK for normal sized prints, and it's sometimes useful to have the option.
One thing you might find a useful upgrade from the A610 is the wider zoom range. Not only the longer reach of the 300mm equiv full telephoto end, but also the wider 28mm equiv at the other end - I'm particularly into landscape & building pictures, with some flower close ups, and I find the 28mm very useful, even more so than I expected when I bought the camera.
I've had a look at your Flickr site, it seems we like similar kinds of pictures. I would say the Fuji is the best landscape camera in it's class. It's not so good on action shots - the autofocus is a bit slow - and it doesn't have image stabilisation, which can be useful in some situations (though I haven't missed it). If your new income stretches to it, a good DSLR with a range of lenses would certainly be capable of better results - at around 10 times the cost! - but as an upgrade, making a reasonable step up from the A610, I think it would be worthwhile.
