I doubt this will b hard. I'm lookin' for a above average cam with 'Solarize' as one of the photo effects. There probably are hundreds of them, aren't there?

I'm kinda a tech-geek (mostly phones, and mp3 players), so i want something w. a lot of features, but does wat it is supposed to do the best. I like havin somethin/features that other ppl don't. I really like sleek things, but I would choose features over look to some extent...

Not too high-end though.

---------------------------------------------

Budget

* Up to $400... but thats if the camera is very amazing.

Size

* Preferably the smaller is better... but im not that picky

Features

How many megapixels will suffice for you?

5MP seems like more than enough to me... I'm not a avid photo taker (I want a cam that will make me wanna take pics)

* What optical zoom will you need? (None, Standard = 3x-4x, Ultrazoom = 10x-12x, Other - Specify)

I heard Zoom was more important than Res, so... I want nothin' lower than standard

* How important is “image quality” to you? (Rate using a scale of 1-10)

8ish.

Do you care for manual controls?

I'm patient enough to deal with whatever.

General Usage

* What will you generally use the camera for?

Pics. Duh.

* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not?

If the picture is real nice. I say not often.

Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos?

Yessiree

Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos?

Maybe.

Miscellaneous

Are there particular brands you like or hate?

Like... Sony, because thats where i first seen this 'solarize' effect... but i am not picky, as long as it is good.

Are there particular models you already have in mind?

Nope.

(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD)

All sound nice to me. :D... at least one special feature, please.

Thankyou.

For solarization and posterization, just get any digital camera and then a cheap copy of paint shop pro. Besides, both solarization and posterization depend on values (bits per channel for posterization; threshold value for solarization) for their results, so you'll get a much wider range of effects with the post processing:

Solarization with threshold at 47/256:

I rather the feature be on the phone, even though i understand it is unnecessary.

Excluding that, do you have a camera that you would reccomend for me?

*U kinda lost me on the values.. but these r pics i took w. my cell. This is wat i like.

Your pictures look posterized rather than solarized, but at any rate, I haven't kept up with the recent spate of cameras to know of any that have those particular features. Have you tried googling for "posterization effect digital camera"?
