I'm interested in getting opinions here on how everyone processes RAW images. Do you use RAW imaging software merely to make some high level adjustments (like White Balance) and leave the rest for Photoshop (or equivalents) or do you use it for the more fine-level details like levels and contrast, with little PS work?
I use RawShooter Essentials and occasionally the Raw Converter that ships with Adobe PSE4.

For the times I use RAW with the FZ30 which is not often....I use Adobe Camera RAw which I do not know what shipped with Elements but any Version of ACR over 3.2 will work with elements and the FZ30.
I leave it make its auto settings and then I open the photo in PS and do any more editting I feel it needs.

When I use RAW mode in the FZ-30, then open in CS2 I edit the pic as best I can and then save it in TIFF, edit it again in TIFF mode to see if I can improve it more then save the final result in JPG. On a scale of 0-12 in the save mode of CS2 I use 10 where 8 is about the same as the FZ-30 high JPG setting as far as I can tell.
After I print the pic and it looks a bit off in one area or another I go back to TIFF file and mess with it there and print from TIFF file. If ok save in JPG then delete the two large files.
This might seem like a lot of fiddling around but it is about the best I can do with those one off pics that are not easy to take or I haven't mastered how to get them from the camera.
