Hey guys,
I took a week vacation up in the Washington state mountains and took a lot of pisctures with my new Polaroid camera that I bought at our local WalMart. I also bought a 1.0 GB SD Card. It was in the camera, so all the pictures that I took got stored on the card, not on the camera. But when I got home and tried to upload it onto my computer, something weird happened. I plugged the USB connection into the camera, turned on the camera, and it attempted to load, but the LCD screen remains black. The power button stays lit, but that's it. It's like it's frozen or something. I can't even turn it off with the power button. I have to take out the batteries for it to turn off. So I'm messing around with it a little, trying to figure out what's happening. And it continues to do that with the SD Card inside. So I take the SD Card out, and try to power the camera up. It works fine, just like its supposed to. Odd? I put the SD Card back in, try to power the camera up. Same thing. LCD screen remains black, freezes, I end up having to take the batteries out.
But what's REALLY strange is, if I leave the SD Card inside the camera, plug in the USB into my camera and connect it into my computer, power the camera up, the LCD screen will remain black for about 3 minutes or so, and THEN it will say "Connecting..." as it always did when I would upload the pictures to my computer.
So I wait for the upload software to appear. Nothing. So I go into My Computer, try to Explore the "Removable Disk" so I can maybe drag the pictures manually, and my computer just freezes! I disconnect my camera from the computer, and my computer goes back to normal.
Very odd?
So I'm stumped, I take it over to our local Walgreens and see what the Techs in the Photo Dept. have to say. They're stumped too! They connect it up to there machine and see "1 Directory Found. 0 Images." I took over 400 pictures on our vacation! How can they just...vanish?
So I'm stumped, I don't think I'm leaving out any details, this is just...weird! It's like there's a virus on it or something it seems like.
I'm not sure how to say the Specs of an SD Card so here it goes.
It's blue, SD on top, a Lock on the left. 1.0 GB in the middle, PNY logo below that. And "Made in Japan" below that.
On the back it says:
SD-M01G
0606 TM9358P
MADE IN JAPAN
Please someone explain to me what's going on.
Thanks!
Tim
