hey whats up,

this is my 1st post here so im not sure if this is in the right section. anyway, i have a canon digital rebel 300d with the 18-55mm lense. i absolutely love it, but i have 1 problem while shooting indoors w/ lights above. i keep getting these nasty halos. i'm not sure what it could be, any thoughts? heres an example:

I don't know what is causing your halos. If it happened to me, the first thing I would do is make sure my lens and/or filter was clean.

i agree with the above - looks like something on the lens. if it's not dirty, i could only guess that a filter is causing it. i recently decided to dust off the kit lens and shot 2gigs or more on three seperate days indoors, with many shot in enviroments like the one you show and not one image has those halos

I would try a polarizing filter. The next time I was taking photos with the very bright reflections, I'd try bracketing and getting some slightly underexposed shots, too. Of course, I'm just a klutz and that's just what I'd try. Perhaps someone who actually knows will chime in.
