Sounds like dead batteries to me, but by now, I'm sure you've figured out what your problem was. I could use some direction, however. My DSC-P92 was working fine up until recently. I turned it on only to get horizontal lines through the LCD display. Pics taken with the camera in this condition are useless - they've got lines through them and no real pic. Following the user manual, I tried the reset, but with no success. It appears that SONY UK has owned up to a problem with a sensor chip. Has anyone heard any more of this in the US, or does anyone know of a good source for problem or recall information?

Thanks,

Umm, well Sony have posted a notice on the support site about the sensor problem and indeed on every major every photo forum for about a year now..
