I am about to buy a fz20 and would like to fit a uv filter to protect the lens.
is it just a 72mm I need? will the the standard hood and lens cap still fit.
I seen a few threads on adaptors but am unsure what the advantages will be in using one.
thanks

If you want to use the Panasonic adapter ,you will need a 72mm filter and a 72 mm lens cap. If you are not going to add other lenses (tele, macro or wide angle) You really do not need an after market adapter.

I was going to do this but did not bother when I saw how big the adapter was! If you are sure about the UV filter you might want to consider an after market option with 62mm adapter, they are more compact.
Have a good look at the camera and make your mind up before you buy the filter, don not let it put you off the camera it is excellent
