HI

I have a nikon d50, and bought a 2 G sd card for it. I start taking pictures and when i had the first ones, the camera asked me to format the sd card. I can't remember if i click on yes, but i know i try to click on no, but it was not doing anything.... The problem is that these first pictures are gone, and i have no idea how to recuperate them. This is very important, because it's a wedding, and it the bride's preparation (getting dressed) and that's the only pictures i had!!!
After that, the card was playing up all the time. The camera was displaying 'CHA' all the time, wich,by the manual means 'THIS CARD CANNOT BE USED'... i was able to take one picture at the time, and turn off the camer and on to take the next picture... wich as you can understand, it was way to annoying.. Like i had my 1G with my and was able to use it at the reception....

I check the properties (right button of the mouse on the camera) and i could see that the memory used was around 1G, when the data wich i can access is only around 300 MB... can someone help me... It will be really awesome!

Thank you very much!

Most cards come with a recovery program, and it's downloadable too.

Sorry to hear the hard luck. Not a paid gig hopefully. Lessons learned hua?

Try Googling file restore programs. You might find one that will work for you.

Good Luck, I have been there.

I just readed your posts, the card is a sandisk 2GB (sd card)... and i suppose i will have to look in their website to download the recovery program... just wanted to thank you guys,... and don't worry the wedding was not paid, it's my wedding present for my husband's cousins, because they didn't had a photographer...

Sorry JVL, i'm a newbie in here, what does exactly mean 'googling file restore programs....

I'll have a look and whatever i find that works, Hopefully everything, hehe, i let you know... thanks so much!!!

I have read that the word googling (lower case g) has just been added to the dictionary. You now know what it means.
