Hi everyone - my first thread. Just purchased the fine mju 700 - registered it no problem with the serial number sticker on the software. I tried to use some of the advanced editing in Olympus Master such as Art and 3D but I was asked to input the serial number of the xD card - trouble is I can't find one anywhere on the card or the packaging - It's a bona fide Olympus card.Is it somewhere else ? Sorry if this is a daft question ! Many thanks.

Some online stores seem to say the serial is included with the xD card holders included in the full packaging?

See, http://www.olympus-europa.com/consumer/198_1GB_High_Speed_xD-Picture_Card_Box_Contents.htm

Where it says Picture Card holder complete with serial number to unlock art functions

Although the Olympus store seems to refer to the Art and 3d function in the blurbs about both the HighSpeed(type H) and Standard (Type M) cards, http://www.olympus-europa.com/consumer/205_OLYMPUS_Master_Plus_3D_Instant_Art.htm refers only to a hi-speed card.

If you have bought an Olympus High Speed xD-Picture Card, type in the serial number printed in the place indicated by the guide included in the optional package of the Card when this window of Olympus Master Plus is prompted:

"High Speed" is referring to the "H" type card only.

You can activate the Art and 3-D functions in Olympus Master by one of two ways:

1. Upgrade your copy of Olympus Master to the PLUS version
or
2. Buy an "H" type xD memory card because it will come supplied with a 16 digit serial number which will activate that function in Olympus Master (the regular version). This 16 digit Art and 3-D function serial number is separate from the serial number for the card itself.

If you already purchased the "H" type card, then you should have gotten that 16 digit number on the inside of the packaging the card came with.

Eric

Hi,
So I have just bought the 720 SW with a genuine olympus xD card. problem is there is no serial number in the with card to unlock the art functions. All the other stuff is there, including the instructions stating that the number is on the card holder, but there is no number on the card holder.. Tried ringing the support number for Australia and it says the number is not connected..

anyone know what i can do to get this working properly?

thanks

Nickster -

Did you buy an "H" type xD card or is it an "M" type? Try checking the Olympus Australia website for a current number to call for this kind of thing. When I bought mine the number was on a white sticky label on the back of the xD card holder. If you have the "H" card and don't have the number, call their support line and I'm sure they'll help you out.

Check out the link below for some specs on the H type card.

Same here. I purchased a SanDisk Type H 1GB xD card and no serial number was provided. It did not come with the holder shown in the picture above, it just had a clear plastic case made for 1 card.

I'll have to call them too.
