Starting July 18th and ending August 19th, Sony is offering a $100 Mail in Rebate on the R1. The lowest price for a "reputable" store is $850, bringing the net price down to $750.

While the R1 wasn't a perfect product, it was a solid entry, and I hope that Sony continues the line (tweak and cut the price down), but guaging from this, it doesn't look too likely. :(
