I got an ultra II (supposedly 10mbps) 512, and its slower than the one that came with the camera. My burst is 1 shot/second!!! Is this normal?

Another possibility would be Quick Review set for > 1 second? But try the same test with the 16MB card that came with the camera; if it's full-speed, you may have a faulty Ultra-II card.
