i think i've decided to buy the F30, but am going to the US next week for holiday. i'm just wondering would it be worth buying it there instead of here in the UK? it may be much cheaper, plus i heard that in some countries the F30 comes with a free case in the box.
can anyone in the US tell me if you do get the case free with the F30?
thanks.

Mine didn't come with a case but I did get it for $312 at buydig.com (missed the $50 rebate by 1-2 days  ) I assume you're talking about buying it at a brick and mortar store though, so your main choices will probably be bestbuy or circuitcity. There's plenty of other stores but those are two large US electronics store chains and their prices will be fairly representative.

bestbuy is charging $399

circuit city is charging $351.99 (online anyway)

I grabbed this leather case on ebay for $15 and I'm happy with it.

thanks for the info. i just reliased if i buy it in the US, the warranty will only be valid over there. so if something goes wrong with it, i won't be able to send it back to FUJI, UK. hmmm...

just checked the price of the F30 in a brick and mortar yesterday and they wanted 280 pounds / 520 dollars!!

if i do buy it in the US, i'm presuming i could still charge it in the UK using an international plug converter..?

Damn $520 is expensive! Those UK prices are crazy indeed. You could order it for around $300 beforehand get it shipped to where you are staying and get them to hold it for you or pay for like 2 day shipping ($25-30 mostly) and get it while youre there, still be much cheaper , just a thought, better than paying $400 plus tax at a Best Buy IMO (the 2 day shippins comes out to less than tax anyways!). Its a great cam and for $300 I wouldnt even think twice about it, granted I got it for $265 after rebate :-) The warranty is the only issue you will have as if something happens you have to send it to the States and the AC adaptor is rated 100-240V so itll work worldwide.

thanks for the info. i guess i'll probably buy it over there. if anything does go wrong with it i can always send it to FUJI, UK and just pay for repair costs. or am i tempting fate, that something will probably go wrong with it...?
