Just purchased a new FZ7 today. Very excited.
I'm looking to purchase memory for it.
1) Any good sites like "batterybarn.com" for memory? E.i. cheap good deals? I don't need name brand as long as it works well.
2) What are some good memory cards that have worked well for you? I believe it uses a standard SD memory card.
Any comments about using this camera is also appreciated.
Thanks!

Good card ...good retailer

You do not need a card that fast ...but why not.
I do not know of any card that will not work but you should consider cards at least 60X.....9mb/s

Thank you for the suggestions. Had a field day shopping NewEgg.com - a bit like going to Ikea.

I've found Battery Barn is good for the spare off brand batteries;
Newegg for the memory
(I have 2 - 1-GB 80X Transcends that work great in all my digis; Rather have a spare if one fails than just one 2-GB... But a good 2-GB is nice for movies)
2Filters for, well duuh, filters...
Free but good software:
Picasa2 image editor/file management
Focus Magic for tweaking OOF/Motion blur
Neat Image for residual image noise

I'll chime in for NewEgg too. Really fast delivery, also.

Ah... right - 2filters.com
Thanks! This looks like a great website!
What are the "Must Haves" BASIC filters I'd need on a camera like the FZ7? I believe the camera is adaptable for 55mm lenses.
My understanding is a clear UV lens is always good....

...starting out I'd say probably none. If you do a lot of landscapes near water etc, a linear polarizer might be usefull to counteract glare. Multi-Coatings are always more preferable since you already have great glass on the digi.
Differing opinions... for me, I use a Hoya Super HMC UV(O) on my FZ5 to both provide some protection to the Leica Glass and a better metal thread to attach my TCON17 to it.
I'm not positive but for my FZ5/FZ30, they take 55mm... I believe the FZ7 is different...not really sure best to check/confirm in the manual.
For the most part, I'd say learn and enjoy your new digi and see how your interests lie before spending more $$ on filters as most filter effects can be added via software, initially. Once you become better with your imaging, specialty filters can be chosen appropriately...
Others, of course, may have their own opinion(s)...

I have an FZ7 and added an adapter for my Tcon and assorted filters that I used with my retired Olympus 35mm........this is the adapter and it goes for about $25US.
