Third party replacement battery for TZ1

Wonderful discussions here! Thank you. I looked but couldn't find an opinion or advice concerning third party camera batteries. I just ordered a TZ1 and the reviews indicate a short battery life. Is it safe to use replacement batteries?

I have several 3rd party batteries for my cameras and they seem safe ...the problemm with 3rd party batteries is they suffer from poor quality control.

I feel its best to get them from someone with a good exchange policy such as the batterybarn.....but I also have a few 5 dollar batteries from ebay.
