I am new to these forums, but I need a little help. I just bought and Oly Mcon40 macro lens for my FZ5. The Mcon40 is a 55mm thread and the lens adapter on the FZ5 is 55mm. Why am I having trouble screwing this lense on the adapter?
I just keep turning and turning, it tries to catch on the thread but just pops out and goes loose again. Do I need something else to get this lens attached? Maybe an adapter with metal threads (if those exist)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

with the stock Pany plastic adapter... They have about 1-2mm of plastic w/no threads to make the lens cover seal a bit better but, for attaching adapters with shallow threads, it's a pain.
Most of us have found that if you use some fine grit sandpaper on a flat hard cover book, one can sand the excess plastic down to the started thread. Then a lot of us use a filter, such as the Hoya UV(O) metal filter (I have the HMC Super) to both protect the Leica lens and afford a better lens attachment such as your MCON and my TCON17. You'll get ~ 1-1/2 rotations w/ the Hoya filter.:)
Sand until you're down to the starter thread (about where the glare is at...)

Thank you so much. I did what you suggested and it works much better now.

Instead of sanding of the lens hood holder, you may also use a neutral filter with more threads (BW won't work, I use Cokin and it's perfect, I never tried HOYA).
It brings lens protection + better support for other filters or converters.

you have less threads that are securing the lens. IMO, sanding is the better way to go but YMMV...
