Hi!

I recently bought a DSC W5 point and shoot digital camera. I didn't realize that I need a memory stick in order to transfer the photos onto my laptop.

Anyways, I'm very confused as to which type of memory stick I need for my camera? There seem to be so many kinds. I don't mean the memory space, but pro, integrated, etc etc.

Please can somebody clarify this for me?

Also, is it necessary that it be a Sony brand or is there a cheaper no-name brand?

Thanks,

Iirc it takes the full size MS/MSpro cards, but just buy a MS Pro Duo (the smaller sized sticks) , as they should come with an adapter to make it full size.

A 1gb card should give you around 380 shots.

Why Duo and why Pro ?

Duo is the newer format, future Sony point and shoots are likely not to use the full size stick, (see the H2 and H5 for example)

Pro is faster and needed to shoot movies at the highest frame rate , plus any little bit of speed you get in general shooting is good.

And finally the difference if price is so little it matters not..
