Hi,
A brand new H2 is near my ears. The camera firmware is 2, reset to its initial setting.
I hear a constant noise like a motor is working:
1) Motor wearout
2) Battery power lost
Do u have it in your camera? is it common? whats the cause of it?
thanks, yehuda

Don't know what causes it.
Same with the H5, we all wonder, but seems to be normal.

Hello.
I have a DSC H2 Cybershot camera and last night I was testing ISO outside.
YES, my DSC H2 makes a weird noise, like a motor running (not focusing, just standing by with the lenses retracted). Actually is like a sound from an audio device. Like a "telephone quality recorded waterfall".
I will try to contact Sony to ask them..
Do you have an answer?
Thank You!

Out of interest I powered up my Sony W100,
there is an intermittent noise, two or three second interval,
then like a stepping motor sound.
This is in the record, or shoot mode.

Hello,
My DSC H2 make the same noise, but in stand-by mode (with the lenses retracted) this turn off. I think that is normal.
It can save the battery with the motor not starting from zero all the times?
Thanks.

My H2 makes no noise at all when just sitting around.
