Oh boy - some people are gonna have fun with this one... ;)
Sorry Kevin. Could you be a little more specific? Which lens are we talking about?

Go to local camera store - buy cheap UV filter. . . then order a replacement cap!
Why not just buy a cheap lens cap in the shop?
As a photographer I learned many years ago that the answer to missing lens caps was cap-off, cap in pocket.

A rebel XT is not a lens.... so again, what lens do you have that you lost the lens cap of.

I'm sure he means the kit lens. It's a 58mm thread so any 58mm cap should work. Kevin - check your local camera store. Sure they have plenty of options for you. And welcome to the forum!
JTL - with all due respect, that's not all you lost! :p

This is pretty funny, but Kevin's not alone. I, too, lose lens caps. Just about every wedding. In all the hubbub, I'll take the cap off and toss it somewhere (usually in one of my 6 pockets or in my bag), but at the end of the night I'm always one short. It usually turns up in the cupholder of my car or somewhere like that, but I hate having a $x000 lens unprotected. Fortunatley, most of my lenses use a 77mm lens cap... So I went on EBay recently and bought a lot of 5 extra 77mm lens caps for $10 shipped. I put the OEM lens caps in a drawer - awaiting the day when I may sell a lens (who am I kidding!), and use the cheapos. This week I lost one of the cheapos. Time to buy another lot of 5...

I have been thinking the same jamison55
A cheap one on the lens and the Canon one safe at home.
A bit worrying when you look at Jessops site
Canon Lens Cap (LCE163) For EF 500mm F4.0L IS USM Lens = £74.99

I must admit I have a few Nikon caps in the bag, just in case I need a spare. It was just that they were on sale, I swear! ;)
