Noisy Canon A80 Zoom?

I have had an A80 for nearly a year, and have never had any problems with it. I was recently looking at some of the newer Powershot models (like the A75), and I realized that my A80 Zoom is a lot noisier than they are. I wonder if all A80s are like that, or if I have something wrong with my motor. If you have an A80, please tell me if yours is whisper quiet or a bit noisier.

A80 is supposed to be less noisy for the zoom. The zoom noise that you said is common for Canon models. I have noticed it in some cameras. I heard others complaining about this same issue. I don't know the exact reason for it. May be because of dust. Or needs to be servised. If you zoom it slowly, you can reduce that sound. Try it...
