I have a problem with my camera (FZ5)

The photos are coming out severely underexposed (almost black) when ever I take a picture anywhere with a decent ammount of light (such as outdoors) The picture on the preview LCD looks fine until I take it, but when reviewing the photos both on the LCD and on my computer, it comes out almost entirely black. I have tried this on all of the basic settings and a various manual settings and get the same problem.

Any ideas?

Now this is completely a guess....but are you aware that the LCD of the FZ cameras can be adjusted to make the photo lighter or darker......That should be adjusted to match what the EVF displays.

And perhaps your monitor needs adjusting

I would restore the factory defaults to the camera and set it on the heart mode and take photos outdoors in good light.....These photos should appear fine.

There is one other possibility ,although not likely, if you are using a filter remove it until you resolve the issue.
