Hi!

I would like to attempt using one of these cameras to achieve quality portraits - mostly 8x10s and at times 11x14 or so.

Which one do you think is the most likely to deliver the goods -

The Canon G3 or the newer Canon A620?

The A620 has a ton of settings - maybe a G type lens -
7 megapixels - great reviews.

The G3 has a hot-shoe - Raw option - Bigger in size and also has great reviews as well as a loyal fan base

I feel like I would rather get the G3 even instead of a G6 I like its size a bit more than the G6 - The G3 has only 4 megapixels though -but- I hear thats enough for 8x10s and maybe 11x14s - Is that true?

I would love any expert advice on this thanks!

man i would love to have a NEW G series over whats available now if i could find somthing new in the box i would get it. Every G series image ive ever seen has blown me away. But then again any 610 or 620 image ive ever seen has been pretty impressive as well. I think its what you plan to do with it. If you want a more compact unit then the 6XX but if you want some really creative shots the G series has to be the one.

The G series seem unreal but the 6XX have a quality that i wouldnt expect from a P&S.

What do you plan to shoot?
