I'm thinking, if I keep my 16-35L, I will want the 5D. If I don't keep it, I will want the 17-55 IS. A few of you have made it sound like good equipment can be sold without much loss. I talked to B&H today, they have a different opinion. They will give me about 60% on what I paid for over the last two months.

I don't know how they are with buying stuff from people, but keh.com is great to deal with on the buying end. You might see what they'll offer you. Or try to sell it for what you want on the FM forums.

The Buy & Sell forum over at fredmiranda.com. Gear moves pretty rapidly over there.

I can vouch for that. I advertised a 50mm f1.8 and it went literally within an hour. I received the cheque a few days later and posted the lens out as soon as the cheque cleared - all of 24 hours later.

I put my Lowepro Nova 5 AW on there and had a buyer PM me within 3 minutes :D

This is because they have to make a profit on the sale as well - they give you 60% they market it at about 90% and they earn 30% - 10% is lost to the product being used. Those are approximates.
Keh won't do much better than 60%.
Selling the lens yourself either in the buy and sell forum over at Fredmiranda or POTN [photography-on-the.net] you can ask for roughly 85-90% of the new price and get it.

I will try the FM Forum.

Have you tried looking at ebay? I have been watching some items on there for a while. While watching them I pull up the items on pricegrabber.com (http://www.pricegrabber.com) to compare to the lowest retail taking into consideration shipping and tax (if any). On ebay, I have noticed that sometimes the spirit and thrill of bidding gets the best of people. Not to mention, that you can make a little extra by charging more for shipping than it will actually cost. A lot of items are listed as "buy it now" for more than you can get it on pricegrabber...and they sell!!! May take a bit longer than FM, but you could get extra $$ too.
