Hi All,
A few months ago I bought a Nikon D70s with 18 -70 kit lense,Sigma 70-300 APO lense,Tamron 90 macro,Nikon sb800 flash, and assorted filters, spare battery and extra memory. Im away on holiday to Spain early next year and am paranoid about it being stolen,it got so bad ive now went out and got a Cannon g6 to take instead,am I being over paranoid or am I making the right choice, thanks for listening:confused:

Hmmm, I know DSLR's are quite expensive, especially with their collection of lenses.
Then again, things (in general) always get stolen.

That depends... are you planning on taking pictures of bad neighborhoods with money hanging out of your pants late at night in dark alleys?
It really depends on how you act and how observant you are... in any country.
travel smart mate
when you arent using it, make sure keep it in a subtle bag at all times
and never put that bag down
dont give thieves the opportunity
be prepared to take a bullet for your camera:p
i'd take one for mine, and i dont even own an SLR
I see you're in Scotland. If I were back in Wales with an expensive camera setup, I'd be nervous too. Why? Because there just are too many villains in economically deprived areas and because if somebody tried to steal my stuff and I thumped them in order to keep my property in my posession then the law is so perverted that I'd probably end up going to jail for assaulting a poor innocent criminal! I much prefer the situation here where I can pull out my Kahr 9mm if needed.

Thanks for all the replies,,I think what I meant was the g6 is a small camera which I can fit in a large pocket, whereas to take the nicon kit its in a backpack,I know I could just take 1 lense to lighten the load but sure as fate I would come across a situation where another lense would have been better, again thanks for the replies and the laughs.:D

They have a CCR in NC? I pictured you more as a PPK or CZ kind of guy.;) Can't do that in the PRC (Peoples Republic of California). I'll miss that when I move back...:(

Just be smart and protective of your gear. I just took my entire setup to Mexico in May, with no trouble at all. Keep your eyes on it, lock it up when not in use.

Yup. And it's SC :)
And yes - I do like the PPK and also the Makarov.
