zoom cameras - zoom "steps"

As a user of a Ricoh R1 I enjoy be able to set the zoom controller to move in "steps", i.e. from the 28mm equivalent wide-angle starting point I can push the zoom controller once to move to 35mm equivalent, and again to move to 50mm equivalent, again to 85mm and again to 135mm full telephoto.

Can anyone advise if such controls are available on any of the super zoom cameras I am considering for purchase: Panasonic FZ7, Sony H5, Canon S3.

Alternatively, do any of these cameras offer any indication of focal length setting?
