Hi

I'm looking to buy an ultra-compact digtial camera that looks good but also takes great photos Basically, I'm trying to strike a balance between Price, Performance & Looks.

After reading a lot of reviews, I've come down to four models & I'm having a hard time choosing between them: Casio's z750, Canon's sd-500, Kodak's V550 & Panasonic's FX9. I've listed them all below along with what I find to be their Pros-&-Cons & i'd really appreciate any advice you folks could give me.

- Casio Exilim z-750: Good photos, great movies, variety of manual controls & modes, BUT lots of ppl have reported lens errors & fragility issues. Also, its a bit chunkier than the other models & I dont fancy its looks.

- Canon SD500: Good photos & performance, Sleek design, Adequate controls; The only big drawback is the tiny LCD.

- Panasonic's FX9: Great look, solid feel, Image-stabilization feature, BUT photo-performance not as good as the above two, plus .mov video format takes up a lot of memory.

- Kodak's V550: Good looks, great LCD, atleast 50 dollars cheaper than the others, BUT only 5 megapixels and has a very limited set of features/manual controls.

Please lemme know what you guys think - the fact is, this is the first digital camera that I'm buying for myself. I've always used my parent's Sony until now, so I'm not sure how useful the advanced features would be for me.

Right now, the FX9's stabilization feature coupled with its looks have me tilting towards it, but I wanna know what you experienced users think. It seems everybody goes for either a Canon or Casio these days, & I'm wondering what's so wrong with the other brands?

I'm going between the Kodak V550 and the Canon SD600. I've read reviews that the Kodak eats batterys so i'm leaning twards the Canon.
