sd700 or w100, who has better low light photos

I take a lot of low light photos in places where I would like a compact camera.

After reading the reviews the w100 seemed to be the best with low light with an ISO of 1250. But the new sd700IS seems to be a contender with low light photos.

Most of the photos will be taken, point and shoot. Possibly I will have time to mess with the ISO/Aperture/Shutter speed but better if I do not have to.

So as point and shoot compact cameras go which would be the best with low light photos at any price? Which would be the second best at a lower price?

Cameras above pocket size would be undesirable.

The photos will be viewed on a 19" computer monitor.

Noise of course is unwanted but if it is there so be it.

The low light photos will most likely be in doors with no time to set a tripod. There will also be some photos outside.

I would compare the results you have seen from those two to the new F30 from Fuji with ISO to 3200. 3200 doesn't make for the greatest pictures, but it is quite good thru 1600, with MUCH lower noise than the competition.

Downside is no external battery charger and the use of xd memory, but you can get an Olympus high speed 1 gb card for around 35$ online. They work great.

go with the S700 IS. it has its flaws such as red eye but that depends where you take your pictures. I like the IS feature its great for low light conditions when u dont want blurry pictures but dont want too much flash. the screen is large and sharp. the Sony's is smaller (or maybe same size) but its lower res so a lot more resolution.

The Canon is also a bit smaller overall.. weighs 4grams more, but whats 4 grams more... high quality video and much more.. my vote goes to the Canon.
