Hello. Hopefully someone can help me. I like the F10/11's image quality a lot, but I am disappointed with the movie quality. I am unsure of how to exactly explain the problem. But when the F10/11 tries to adjust to different light conditions when filming, there are noticable (and irritating) "jumps", like the camera is suddenly trying to catch up the different light. It totally lacks the smoothness that should be there. This problem can clearly be seen here: http://www.dinside.no/php/art.php?id=288797 (To see the clip on this site you can click on: "Klikk her for å laste ned et videoklipp. NB! 17 MB."
So now I wonder if this movie quality problem is fixed with the new F30? The sample movie clip at dcresource's F30 review site looks good, but it is too static to reveal any possible problem.

That looks like the camera is adjusting aperture in real time. Try recording video in aperture priority mode to lock it.

Well I got my F30. I can see now that freezing apeture during a movie could be a problem.
But i have good news... the F30 doesnt do the 'exposure jumping' thing.
it transitions smoothly.

I think the movie-mode is not that good:
If light-intensity changes the video seems smooth, but a loud 'click'-sound is recorded (=> diaphragm?!)
My dealer said that this is the case with all F30's...
What are your experiences?

Diaphram, if that's the aperature adjustment then that's the clicking sound you're hearing. it's normal, and no biggie IMO, easily edited out. that's the least of the cameras movie problems.
the bad:
- No zoom during recording
- No focus during recording!!!
- "OK" image quality, not so sharp and noisy (seems the camera uses the 6 mp and resizes using nearest neighbor for each frame)
-full exposure per frame, makes individual frames will appear blurred in action scenes.
if you want good movie quality in a digicam, get a panasonic.
