Looking for a nice ultra compact and have narrowed it down to these two cameras. I have owned Canons in the past, and they have been great, so the SD600 is a nice option. I have compared some sample photos online of both cameras and they both seem to do a good job.

The pros for me about for the Canon are ease of use, SD memory, and past experience. The pros for the Sony is the battery meter/live (BIG plus) and it's about $50 cheaper.

Any thoughts on which option is better?

I just bought a W30 for my wife (I couldn't find a W50 in stock in the 7 stores I went to!), and like it quite a bit. What made me choose the Sony over the similar Canon SD450, was the better ISO400 performance that I saw in the sample images from Jeff's review. We used it on vacation last week, and I must say it's the fastest PnS I have ever used. AF speed and shutter release are almost as fast as my DSLR in the daytime, slowing a little when I turn on the flash at night.
