I'm looking for a camera bag for my equipment. Right now I'm using a Lowepro Nova 3, which does fine but doesn't hold everything i might need...
Any suggestions for a new one?
Any inputs on Domke bags?
I'd never think finding the right bag was so difficult
Thanks in advance

thinking of a sling or belt system for weddings and whatnot to be more mobile..
lots of options 4 sure

UPS just dropped off the Tamrac Expedition 5 [5575] - I gotta say - its purty nice.
I have had various bags and still do.
My biggest is a Fotima 192ht that's absolutely gigantic. When I bought it in 1990 it was the biggest in the Fotima range.
I have a couple of smaller bags that take one SLR/dSLR and 4 lenses. I did have one camera holster that took two lenses but I dropped that off at a charity shop as I almost never used it.
What do you want to put in your bag? What will you be doing? I quite like my knapsack camera bag from Ritz. Once I rearranged the partitions it fits my gear much better.

Right now im planing to put everything in the bag. All the lenses and the 20D with the battery grip.
The nova 3 works well for the body and 2 lenses and a flash.
but sometimes i just want to drag along everything..
but thanks everyone for your input.

With that amount of stuff, rather than asking questions, why not pop into Ritz or someplace similar to test their bags.

Ritz has horrible selection... at least here in Las Vegas, and they only stock Craptaray brand :) :) Might be different for you in other areas though.

My buddy and I pack the following into a Lowepro Computrekker AW:
Me: Minolta Maxxum 7D w/VC-7D, Maxxum 7000, 17-35/2.8-4, 28-85/3.5-4.5, 75-300/4-5.6, 50/1.7, Vivitar 285HV, filters/etc
Him: Canon 20D w/vertical grip, 24-70L/2.8, 70-200L/2.8IS, Speedlite 540, filters/etc.
I also use a Crumpler 4 million dollar home for when I'm just walking around with just the body and one lens.
Hope the suggestions help!
I bought a backpack bag from Ritz. Horribly expensive but I was in a rush. It works fine for the camera and lenses I wish to carry.

I just got a Tamrac Expedition 5. I have a 20D, 30D, 580EX, 430EX, 4 batteries, 2 Omnibounces, Off Camera cord 2, Sigma 24-70 w/hood on camera, Canon 50mm 1.8, 2 camera battery chargers, AA battery charger, umbrella bracket and the ball head for my tripod in it. Also other odds and ends. Fairly comfortable to wear also.
Mine is a Tamrak Tek and I can put: Hyperdrive, Tamron 70-300, Tamron 28-75, Tamron 17-35 plus XT with BGE3 into it. I could take the hyperdrive out and put a 420EX in too. There is a little space left so I suppose I could put more in.
I ended up buying (after a lot of research) the Lowepro Slingshot 200 All Weather Backpack. It's purpose was for my vaca to Italy. It is a great bag with lots of little pockets and I like that if it rained the bag would be protected. The only thing was that when I put all my stuff in the bag and had it on I did not like having it on my back for a trip such as Italy where I am told of people stealing things from you. So, I ended up using an old messenger bag instead...not even a camera bag. It fel tmore secure for me to be able to keep and eye on it and it was easier to take things out of. I did keep the back pack and hope to use it in the future for basic usage. If you like the style, it is a decent bag, but part of me wishes I got a crumpler but I read so much about dust problems and a friend of mine had one and thought it was a cool bag but did not like the fact it did not tightly close. That made me not want to buy one.
hope this helps

The Slingshot 200 is awesome! It doesnt carry as much as a Nova 3, but it is far nicer to use. I prefer using "sling bag" to "Backpack, because it does what no backpack can do, namely slide around your body, rest against your midriff, and give you full access to your camera and memory cards. Mine ably carries my D200 with attached MBD200, my memory cards (in the flap, card wallet built in!) my speedlight, the charger, remote, USB cable, and my other lenses (except for the 300mm f/4). I have one open compartment in the main area, and I figure that I could fit a zoom lens like the 18-70 into it. As for theft, I wouldnt worry... unlike a shoulder bag like the Nova 3 or 4, it would be VERY hard for anyone to steal it while carring it, and when it is off it is the same risk for theft as any bag. I think this will be my number 1 bag, especially when hockey season starts again, as I am not going to shoot with the 300mm at all.
