View Full Version : Specific Reseller Experiences?

Hey... anyone dealt personally with either of these online resellers? I keep seeing them on pricegrabber and they have a decent rating... but they consistently have lower prices than most other sites... that always raises the ol' red flag in my brain. Curious if they're worth the effort or not.

Also... anyone know any way of telling if a reseller really is and authorized reseller of a particular brand? I see the "authorized reseller" logo message sometimes... but it doesn't seem standardized. Plus some large sites, like B&H Photo don't have the authorized reseller message...and it's hard to believe that they aren't authorized. I've tried going to some companies' home pages, but they don't really seem to have listings for things like that as far as I can tell.

T.I.A. :)

Yeah... I've checked the online sources some... epinions, pricegrabber, etc. But that only tells you so much. Always interested in personal experiences since "testimonials" can be faked pretty easily for a company that has nothing better to do. Thanks for the quick response though. :)

I didn't see any mention of the sites I asked about in the DCRP from members, just quotes from rating sites. I also didn't see one of them on reseller's site.. which in itself should tell me something if I'd thought about it more. heheh
I don't know about which sites clean their ratings or not... but knowing the internet, I know it still wouldn't be hard for a disreputable company to pad their ratings. I guess I'll have to stick with a couple of the "well known" companies. heh Oh well... if it looks too good to be true.. right? ;)

Take their pricing rating out and they're in the 2 out of 10 w/ a 1 rating for likelihood of future purchases..

Butterfly is what I would call marginal w/a ~4-5 for repeat business. The problem I have w/ ReSeller ratings is there is too much emphasis on pricing. Better indication is if one would purchase from them again...

Look at the DCRP list and you'll see they're grouping is pretty realistic of your chances to complete a satisfactory purchase...

... blah. I'll probably just suck up the price difference and use a "good" reseller. Budget is tight right now so I'm looking for the best deal around... but the deal where you don't actually get what you paid for is worse than the deal where you pay 20 bucks more and actually know it's gonna come. Oh well. hehe Can't afford to not be paranoid. ;)

Thanks for the effort. :)
