Greetings.
Has anyone tried to import a DMC-FZ30 Raw picture with the Photoshop Raw Plugin? I've been more successful, but still with unacceptable results, with Irfan view and the open source dcraw. The former messed up the colors and the last seems to works better as I can get a color picture, but it's underexposed. After trying many raw parameters in photoshop, I could get a left-shifted grayscale picture with non-interpolated red, green and blue color pixels.
Regards.

For the adobe camera raw plugin to work you must have PSCS2...
If you have that, go to the Adobe site and get the ACR 3.2 or 3.3. Plug-in.
And read and follow the installation instructions exactly....it goes in a slightly different folder than most plugins.

I'm using Rawshooter basic to do the inital work on my pictures then transferring that file to CS.
Once I upgrade to CS2 I'll eliminate that step.

Thanks Genece. But I'm using CS2 and a think I correctly installed the plugin since raw pictures are associated with PS and it shows a RAW Dialog when I try to open such file. The problem is that I dont know how to fill these dialog parameters. Width and height are ok, but channels, header length, etc are awkward. Dcraw seems to parse the raw header and automatically extract those informations. Are you telling me that if I had correctly installed the plugin I shouldn't be seeing this dialog?

I use ACR 3.3 (now at 3.4?) with FZ30 RAW files, and I've never seen that dialog you're describing. Whatever you're using doesn't seem to "know" about the FZ30's particular parameters.

That is correct if its installed correctly the photo will open in ACR with some automatic adjustments already made, that you may or may not like.
I saw that dialog box you are referring to before I installed the plugin correctly.
This is how it should open

How many of us have a RAW photo of a Bear to tweak in ACR? ;-)

Hi all.
I decided to reinstall PSCS2 and when doing it I found the problem: I was using raw plugin 3.2. Installed the 3.4 and I'm now oppening raw pictures with no extra dialog. Thanks everybody. Also thanks to that Rawshooter tip, it's a must have software for raw shooters.

ACR3.2 was the first one that worked for the FZ30 so maybe something else was wrong.
