Thanks to what I've read on the forums here, the review (http://www.neocamera.com/review_fuji_f30.html) on Neocamera, the test shots (http://www.flickr.com/photos/jimbobuk/sets/72157594176344005/) my buddy Jim was kind enough to upload for me, and some suggestions on where (http://www.buydig.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=FJFPF30) to purchase I was able to pick this beauty up for $344 with tax and shipping included. The $50 rebate (http://www.fujifilmrebates.com/orstore/ShowItem.aspx?productID=224) sweetens the deal even further.

I purchased a 1GB xD card elsewhere (http://www.buy.com/prod/SanDisk_1GB_xD_Type_M_Picture_Card/q/loc/101/10411585.html) for $54.99 with free shipping (+$3.99 tax).

I know the DCRP review is set to post on the 30th but I simply couldn't take the anticipation any more!

I'll post back on how long shipping times were as I'm sure people would be curious. I assume that by the time I it arrives Jeff will have posted his review so I really really hope it's a glowing one! :D

I tried to hold out as long as possible to get Jeff's review, just to make SURE it was what I wanted. But I have to make a move now. I don't think I'll be disappointed. That last review someone posted sealed it for me.

Getting it through Dell with a 1g xD card for $359 with free shipipng. I can't wait, NEW TOY!

Just want to follow up and say that BuyDig has sent a shipping confirmation as of 10:30am PST. I ordered it at midnight! If that isn't just about the quickest turnaround ever I don't know what is!

Here's to hoping it arrives before the weekend's festivities...

Big thanks to the recommendation in the "Where the heck is the F30 forum"

Good point on that. I had a 10% off buy.com coupon and new they'd get the card to me very quickly so I went for it. Good for others reading the thread however :)

The F30 is very sharp, very good color. It feels good in your hands (I think better than the F11 due to the little metal on the front and the rubber on the back). When I compare it to the F11 the pics are sharper, I don't see loss of detail others have posted about on other forums, but I am not shooting high ISO. I think the cam does very nicely, feels good and comfortable and it easy to use, the battery seems as good as the F10/11, good for at least 500 shots. I think you will be happy, I have the 11 and the 30, my daughter gets one or I sell one, time will tell. I think for straight out of the cam the F30 does a better overall job. Set you LCD at -3 for more accuracy. You may have to play with the EV, but unlike the F11 it should be pretty good at 0. I have played with auto WB and fine and will start experimenting with shade. I like M mode the best so far. I took some shots on Museum setting last weekend and the pics were cyrstal clear, very nice. Enjoy you cam, and paying a few dollars more for a card is just fine if you wanted it fast.

JR has the cam and the Oly H card at great prices. I have been very pleased with their service.

Not a dig at chillzatl but just for clarification, that price does not include the xD card. Add a 1gb xD card + tax and the total from Dell is $438.49

Actually that price did include the xD card along with tax and shipping. Granted it's not a publically available deal. But it's what I paid.

F30 arrived on Saturday. Very impressed with BuyDig's shipping times. xD did not unfortunately arrive and I'm therefore very dissapointed in buy.com - whom I paid extra to have my card ship faster.

First reactions? An excellent camera. Extremely satisfied with the results. Very much looking forward to a proper trip around the city to take pictures!
