View Full Version : Hawaii Pictures
Here are a few shots from a recent trip to the big island. I used a cp and uv filter most of the time. I have done very little if any post processing. If I did do any it was auto level or auto contrast. Is that bad? I want to post more, but I want them to appear along with text. Haven't figured that one out just yet. When I figure that out I will post them. In this little group I like the ones of the hut the best. Let me know what you think.

Great shots! I really like how in the sunset shots, the texture and light of the water is still visible. But the color seems really high -- it's a little distracting. But still beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

Those look really good man, what did you shoot wm with?
The first one is my favorite, i just love the way palm trees look for some reason. The water looks so blue, the colors have really nice pop.
Those look really good man, what did you shoot wm with? They're shot with an S2...can't you tell? :D:cool:;)
Thanks for the comments. I agree the sunset colour is a little distracting. I tried to tone it down a little with photoshop, but couldn't come up with a result that I was pleased with so I left it alone. Still learning.
Bower that is the true colour. It was absolutly beautiful. Very windy though. You can tell by looking at the palm trees. The shots were taken with my S2. I did notice some of the image quality issues people have talked about in this forum. (soft images).
I want to put up more shots but I don't want them to be linked. I want them to appear with the text. Like the ones from the airshow. What am I missing? I have read the instructions a couple times but I am not finding the answer. One last thing should I post further shots in the "photo gallery" section or put them here? I don't want to break protocal.
Cheers

TJG, to post your shots right in the thread, just hit Reply and use the paperclip button (it's above the window where you type, just right of the smileyface and the A for font color.) Upload your (reduced size) images, and then close that window. Click on the arrow next to the paperclip, and choose all images. Presto!
As for posting in the gallery thread, as far as I know, it's fine. But my personal experience is that you get fewer comments from other readers in the gallery than if you just post your own shots.

Nah, i didnt know. They look good!
Here is one that I also posted on the water fall thread. I think it was one of the best shots from our trip. There is no post processing on this shot.
also toriaj, thanks for your comments and explaining how to post pictures in the text.
I tried to post this one a moment ago and promptly deleted it. The quality was awful. Evidently the way I reduced its size affected the quality. Hopefully this one is better. It is Huapuna Beach.
