well, i bought the D70s on Dec 27 so id have a good camera to take pics in Punta Cana.... my wedding photog (now friend) ask for help for hockey tourneys.... hence the 70-200 VR...... so make some money there, making some money on weddings and realized the D70s is annoying with no grip, so i am eyeing up the D200.... i also thought with event shooters, all is well and good, but what about the house leaguers so ive made a trip out to my little brothers soccer game and a co-workers childs football..... ALL THE PARENTS WANT AN ACTION SHOT....

certainly i could not make a living off this, but if i am making some money while i learn i am happy as a clam.... its kind of neat having parents come up and request me take pics of there kids.. just the other day i was shooting my little brothers soccer..... away teams parents asked if i worked for the paper...lol showed them some pics and had a few requests for me to shoot there kid.... 5 people want pics they saw on my photoreflect site.......

so, im selling my D70s and getting the D200 for better focus and menu controls.... and am happy i can make even a bit of money to pay for "upgrades"

thanks for listenin......

Glad to hear that you are movin' on. I had 20 minutes with a D200 and loved it. What a nice dSLR. I'm sorry I doubted Nikons ability to design and build a great dSLR. 30D? ISO be damned the D200 is a wonderful camera.

How does the IQ compare between the D200 and D70?

Have you tried a different focussing screen in the D70 or D200?

Sorry Rhys, I only had about 20 minutes to check it out, as it was not my camera, and the owner was getting a little fidgity. The build quality and ergonomics are definately better than the D70 (but I still like the D70). I barely had time to check even the basic stuff. I did see a couple of 16 x 20's shot buy the owner and they were stunning.

I'll try to get a little more click time in the future.

malsMals - nice work! Sounds like you're having a blast with the new hobby - and turning a few bucks too.

How do you find 200mm for the sidelines?
