The A700 is for sale on many web sites but I have yet to see one in any store. I like to hold and test a camera. Why aren't they in stores yet?

I had to go to a "REAL" camera shop to find one. The Best Buy/Circuit Cities of the world seem to think that all you need is the A620 or A540. The Sears I went to only sold the A540... the kid said, "I hear a lot of great things about Nikons"... uh yeah, not on the compact models, most of them get their butt kicked by Canon on every website.
I've noticed this in computer parts too. The box stores tend to carry mostly the low to middle end of a product line. They only stock a few of the top of the line models, and they tend to be the over kill really high end stuff. They probably make more money by selling cheaper products in volume than carrying a variety of mid to high end models.
Try a camera shop, they'll have it.

I always thought that say sears carry one model, walmart another model and bestbuy whats left. Usualy bestbuy have the higher end modles but it seems they all have different models.
What do you think?
