I've basically decided on getting the Nikon D50 based on reading many reviews and reading post after post on photo fourms. My question is this, which Nikon lenes would you consider for a begginer kit (2 lenses). I see lots of d50 & d70 kits on ebay and other retailers that are selling either camera with the following lenses:
-Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor Lens
-Nikon 18-70mm f/3.5-5.6G ED AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor Lens
-Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor Lens
-Nikon 70-300mm f/4-5.6 AF Zoom Lens

usually the 18-55 & 55-200 and 18-70 & 70-300 together

I'd like to have 2 lenses that I can learn and experiment with for a while and maybe get a wide angle lens at a later date. This is my first venture into Dslr's or any slr for that matter, so I'd like to get a reasonable kit to get started with and see if this is something im really serious about(without spending tons of cash). Any tips would be great and I'm also open to 3rd party lenses but have not looked into them at this point.

Consider D50 body and 18-200 VR Nikor?

Little more money but the lens is much nicer then the others and it would be a 1 lens solution.

Might also consider new tamron 17-50 F2.8 instead of the nikor's.

If none of those fit I'd get the 24-120 VR as a walkaround. 36>180 is a nice "standard" lens if you ask me.
