Hello people,
I'm new to digital photography. Some of you might have read my comments about the Sony DSC-H5. That I had returned it. Since it would suddenly shut off. Believing I was the only one with that problem. And that I my H5 gave me bogus battery life readouts (e.g. started out reading "full" then within 2-3 seconds it would read "half-full"). This was when using the suppied Sony NiMH batteries.
Then I find out today that a H1 user ran into the battery readout problem (along with the shutdown problem). And that all other H1 owners say differently. That their readouts have been spot on with no sudden shutdowns.
Also read that a Fuji F10 owner ran into this as well. Inaccurate battery life readout. But, the difference is the F10 uses a Li-on battery. Proprietary I believe.
And, according to Sony DSC-T9 owners, none have encountered this problem and have been very happy with the performance. Readouts have been exact. The Sony T9 (and T30) uses Sony's proprietary inoLITHIUM battery.
My question is this. Is there a difference between Fuji's and Sony's batteries? Aren't they both lithium-ion batteries. Just with different labelling? Or, is Sony's superior?
Thanks!! :)
