Rebel Xt & Extreme III

I just got the new Extreme III card and I get a CF error on my camera. Does the Extreme III card not work with the Rebel XT or do I need a Bios upgrad on my camera. If so where can I find it.

Agreed - it needs to be formatted - check the camera menu.

You guys Rock. I formated the disk and it does work. Thanks a Billion, I was on the verge of sending it back. I was also getting hell from my wife for spending 250 bones and it not working. Thanks again.

Today, while I was out getting the Canon lens, I swung by my local shop and picked up a Hoodman PPO 2GB CF card. It's got a 150x MAX - 133x Min and a 23.0-20.0 MB/Sec write speed. It's also suppose to use 20% less power.

Compared to my earlier card (DANE-ELEC 2GB)... this is unbelievably fast. Its almost as if there is no transfer time, it's that darn fast. :eek:

They even threw in a Leather CF Case. $169.00

Glad to hear the "format" did you right. I dump and reformat my cards every month, just to make sure they don't fragment. Fragmentation can really impact your write and read speeds. :cool:
