Hello, I have just purchased a C-50 Zoom. Yes, I know I got it off of eBay which was probably really stupid but it's a refurbished unit from the factory with a 90 day warranty. Everytime I turn the camera on, it powers up fine and everything, but the screen is just blank white. This makes the camera useless as all the features and stuff are in the display. It does take pictures using the little eye focus thing (I am new to cameras). The flash works and so does the zoom. Am I going to have to have Olympus fix it while it still has a 90 day warranty or is there an easy fix (doubtful). Has anyone else using the C-50 Zoom experienced this problem? Thanks in advance.:)

Well, I just found this information on their website on FAQ about the C-50 Zoom.

"How long does it take for the Lithium Ion battery to be charged?

Initially it takes approximately 3 ½ - 4 hours. After the battery has been charged once, full charging time is 2 ½ - 3 hours. The Li-ON battery does not have to be discharged completely before recharging. It can be recharged at any time."

Maybe this is the reason the screen isn't working because I only charged it for around 25 minutes? Or should that not affect the display? I can hear it "beep" when I hit the OK button or any of the 4 buttons surrounding the OK button.

If the camera has enough juice to take pictures, it should be able to illuminate the LCD display. It is possible that you've turned off the LCD preview for taking pictures, but if you put the camera in review pictures mode it should work.

I'm going to guess that your LCD is broken and needs to be repaired.

Yeah, you're probably right, I'll have to send it in to Olympus before the 90 day warranty expires.
